Participation

There are many ways to participate in the Nutmeg Book Award:

For students - Students in grades 4-12 and any other interested readers are warmly invited to read, enjoy, and vote each April for their favorite Nutmeg book.  Please contact your school or public library for your place to vote. You can also apply to be a student reader on the book selection committee. See Student Reader page.

For teachers - Share the Nutmeg nominees with students, encourage activities, and use our website for ideas.  If there is no voting in place in your school, you can submit your class votes online during the month of April or collaborate with your local library. Questions? Please contact us.

For librarians - Encourage your students/clients to read the Nutmegs. Create programs and activities designed to promote reading from the lists. Collect votes in April. Tell teachers, parents, and other interested people about these lists of great books. Members of CASL and CLA are invited to serve on Book Selection and then the state Steering Committee. If you are interested in reading on the intermediate or teen committee, see Selection Committee Page.
